Updated 27 October 2026 · Freestyle targets and training, a 650 g build with revised power packaging, and live MetaHuman continuity tests.
Current work across the robot, MetaHuman and website. Companion functions explain the intended experience. Project purpose · Latest field note · Photo and video gallery.
Current baseline
- Motion: the October 27 finite-event model runs each program once. A separate supported stretch verified nine targets; generic calibration and physical recovery remain open. Latest trials · Earlier training comparison.
- Body: 650 g assembled; 2S battery, Mini560 and HiLetgo charger; three-part training stand and one-piece power-carrier exports. Supported Stand/Walk trials passed after the stack repair; loaded chatter and floor walking remain open. Body record.
- MetaHuman: existing-intention handoff, memory selection, event retention, queue lifecycle and on-demand model changes. Live Full Auto tests returned status results but no sustained initiative. Continuity report.
Retained October 21 baseline
- Learning from motion: October 19 forward-Walk comparisons showed a modest tracking improvement with mixed pitch/travel results. October 20 host learning compared a candidate and advanced without promoting it. Separate Walk/Run banks, ordinary-use recording and Learning history are activated. Walking report.
- Body and standing: the owner repaired a ground fault; measured Stand and a 19.22-second hold passed with verification temporarily enabled. The new face and rebuilt shell are visible in October 21 photographs. Installed firmware is recorded through 0.8.113; disconnect-under-motion and the prepared inactivity-rest feature remain unqualified. Body report.
- Reactions and recovery: tip/shake uses Fast Body Event with one unadapted 2B Lightweight call, preset faces and model-selected words. Lifecycle, recovery and transport repairs are activated. New unsolicited input requires a connected recipient; admitted work survives reconnect. Semi inactivity settings are prepared, with live acceptance pending. OS report.
- Visual progress: experimental MoGe-2 landmark odometry feeds locomotion measurements. Absolute metric accuracy remains unverified; source changes and tracking breaks separate comparison contexts. No calibrated distance, contact or energy-efficiency claim follows.
Retained October 18 baseline
- Measured joints: all twelve fourth-wire servos are calibrated through the CD74HC4067. Acquisition is enabled; measured Stand remains off until supported assembly tests. Firmware 0.8.64 is recorded. Feedback and chassis report.
- Models and execution: trained 2B Intent/Task adapters are deployed; the separate 9B Autonomy assignment is experimental. Monitor audit scans and task-level continue were removed. Camera freshness and indexing have repairs; grounded recall remains open. Current OS report.
Retained October 15 baseline
-
Companion systems: Persona owns outward speech; ten shared categories connect graph selectors and model settings. Active Operator appears in the Agent Catalog. Saved graph definitions and consolidated pending resumes improve continuity. Systems report.
-
Agency: Desire review receives attributed memory, standing goals, selected-body status and actual execution evidence. Zero-strength desires can be archived; Psychotherapist is the sole autonomous persona editor. Live archival is recorded, while decision grounding and complete autonomy remain open. Agency evidence.
-
Locomotion goals: the model selects an endpoint alongside gait controls; measured progress and correlated Finish results remain distinct. Signed lateral support has installation evidence. Camera calibration, updated Task qualification and physical accuracy remain open. Locomotion report.
-
October 15 motion: revised locomotion and seated Wave have installation records through 0.8.52. Level-reference, commanded per-leg diagnostics and stationary gyro tools are available. Modeled support limitations and loaded qualification remain open. Motion report.
-
Earlier 9B diagnostics: independent autonomy/persona fits and serving comparisons completed; neither candidate qualified in that comparison. The later experimental autonomy assignment is recorded above. At the time, the production setup was restored, and revised Task references now remove speech steps. Learning report.
-
Body events: boot/wake, tipped and rapid-movement events reach a dedicated Event Trigger workflow, which delegates model-selected intentions to Environment Mode. Robot Status includes timestamped IMU data. Body Control saves thresholds and a rapid-event interval, default 10 seconds. Complete wake/stretch and repeated-reaction reliability remain unresolved. Event report.
-
October 14 startup and leveling baseline: local staged rise is separate from calibration Home. The dated 0.8.46 installation introduced saved On/Off, strength, damping and attitude-target controls; the October 15 report above records subsequent controls and firmware. Loaded physical leveling remains unverified. Motion and geometry report.
-
Recording and Wi-Fi maintenance: internal SD video, downloads, staged application updates and retained robot logs are implemented. The dated 0.8.37 controller test recorded 411 frames over 469 seconds without reconnecting; no powered gait or endurance claim follows. Media and update report.
-
October 14 Task qualification: two 0.8B candidates were evaluated against the earlier speech-step interface; neither was deployed. The later candidate improved reference matches but introduced three historical missed actions. At that date the existing Task refinement adapter remained selected; the subsequent 2B selection is recorded above. Results and limitations.
-
October 12 build report: exterior shell printing has begun, with further weight modifications and a switch to a 4 A power supply. The October 13 owner report adds 566 g mass and 5 V supply for that assembly. Full shell attachment, measured current and final battery arrangement remain open. Build and prototype exports.
-
October 12 vision integration: real P4 camera data and selected-chair observations reached MetaHuman through the desktop gateway. A tighter reference retained one track in eight frames; the tested 0.8B-generated region produced none. Camera stalls/reconnects and full conversational acquisition remain open. YOLOE record.
-
Trained models and node workflows: Qwen 0.8B intent/task specialists have dated activation records; tool routing and live Robot Status are implemented. The earlier goal candidate was rejected after regression failures. The October 14 report above records the newer speech/action candidates separately. Training and comparison.
-
Physical build, October 8 owner report: the robot can stand, walk and respond to commands. The October 8 photograph shows the exposed assembly and illuminated LCD. At that report, the carapace was not attached and Active Operator had not been tested; no newer physical acceptance result is supplied. This superseded the October 6 standing failure for that dated build. The October 16 trials and latest feedback rebuild are recorded above. The later October 13 mass report is recorded above; lifting-force and battery-runtime measurements remain open. Walking milestone.
-
Display and media: dated firmware records include LCD/camera orientation, a working-speaker report and wake-capture checks. The local 59-name face library, workflow feedback and speech refinements have newer source changes; their exact deployed versions remain separate. Face and media record.
-
Q6A host, September 30–October 1 owner reports: Radxa Ubuntu, local repo clones, llama.cpp with Qwen3.5 0.8B, and Kokoro. Cooling/throttling needs attention. The flashed P4 revision and concurrent service performance still need recording.
-
Connection evidence, reviewed October 6: P4 hotspot association and authenticated Q6A readback were recorded with servo power off. That sustained-session test failed its continuous-connection target. The later 469-second Wi-Fi recovery result is recorded above; neither establishes sustained loaded balance/network performance. Steering, sensing and connection record.
-
Decided: Wireless with an offboard Q6A over direct Wi-Fi is the current priority; Wired with an onboard Q6A/native USB remains an alternative. ROS adapters are optional. Current boundary: one body-command owner; the gateway’s Environment endpoint accepts only local Bridge connections.
-
Software progress, October 7–8: task planning and conversation have separate paths; background interpretation preserves the existing active execution owner. Body Control and MetaHuman now expose saved connection choices. Local speech and person-detection refinements remain in progress. Paired software tests use a simulated body; the documented live-model stop/completion failure and physical Active Operator test remain open. Responsive commands.
Working items
Open = unfinished integration. Review = awaiting cross-repo review. Hardware-gated = requires assembly. Evidence is dated to its recorded setup.
| ID / state | Next action and owner | Dependency / acceptance |
|---|---|---|
| DOCS · Review | Reconcile conflicting current plans and link the existing body and MetaHuman records. | Consistent current status and clearly dated history; independent of assembly. |
| HOST · Open | Record the actual Q6A deployment and local changes; stabilize the preferred Wi-Fi path. Body integration · Host evidence | Gateway/Bridge placement and installed services first. Record revisions, link behavior, and sustained speech/perception timing after cooling is checked; isolated desktop/host measurements are not concurrent robot acceptance. |
| MOVE · Open | Qualify the paired task/Bridge producer, correlated updates and selected-track behavior on the assembled robot. Gateway · Integration map | Preserve action, lease/epoch and revision. Pass expiry, uncertain-reply/no-replay, cancel and stop host tests; no new movement authority. |
| LEARNING · Open | Qualify useful forward/backward Walk, both turns and Run under ordinary use. Learning record | First automatic Walk comparison did not demonstrate improvement; Run comparison incomplete. Validate camera scale, retain missing-data evidence and do not promote on one forward win. |
| VISION · Open | Complete the deployed conversational acquisition workflow and selected-target continuity tests. Gateway · Integration map | Exact-frame and live stationary YOLOE results are recorded. Test moving targets, ambiguity/loss/reacquisition, camera recovery and Q6A workloads through the existing camera/task owners. |
| REMOTE · Open | Remove full remote-provider configuration logging and test safe metadata logging. Integration map | Required before activating credentialed remote inference; independent of assembly. |
| IMU · Open | Qualify loaded correction direction and tracking using the new level-reference and diagnostic controls. Leveling record · IMU owner | Per-leg changes are commanded/model data. Stationary gyro bias is separate from attitude reference and physical joint calibration. |
| EVENTS · Open | Qualify full wake/photo/stretch/stand and the faster tip/shake path, including commanded-motion classification and face lifecycle. Current event record | One-call inference and runtime receipt completion are recorded; total audible latency, diversity and loaded false-event behavior remain open. |
| MODELS · Open | Address remaining 2B task regressions, evaluate experimental 9B autonomy and qualify memory-routing training. Current model report | Preserve fresh evaluation families. Version 20 data preparation is not a new trained adapter; experimental deployment is not general qualification. |
| AGENCY · Open | Qualify desire judgments, dream recall and complete autonomous outcomes. Systems evidence | Context and ownership repairs are activated; correct task interpretation and evidence-supported goal review remain open. |
| MEDIA · Open | Extend recording and Wi-Fi recovery checks to longer concurrent workloads and storage faults. Controller record | Preserve the 469-second result as short-run evidence; full-card reuse and power-loss recovery need their own physical qualification. |
| FEEDBACK · Open | Extend the successful ground-repair Stand test to repeatability and supported recovery. Stand record | One measured 19.22-second hold passed. Saved verification and jam settings were restored off; broader corrective behavior remains unqualified. |
| BODY · Hardware-gated | Check printed exterior and the reported 5 V / 4 A supply arrangement, document the complete assembly, then test Active Operator and concurrent camera/audio/control. Validation · Budget | The 566 g report belongs to October 13; document the rebuilt shell mass, measured current and battery endurance. Installed firmware records do not qualify loaded startup or gait. |
Automatic host takeover, continuous profile replication and higher media targets remain later design work in their owning records. None blocks consolidation.
